Hi! I’m Simona.

I'm a multidisciplinary artist working across photography, mixed media & abstraction. My practice is shaped by an interest in visual language, asemic writing & the ways marks can suggest meaning without having one fixed translation.


Growing up speaking Bulgarian & using the Cyrillic alphabet made me curious about how symbols can feel familiar to one person and unreadable to another. Over time, this developed into a broader interest in the threshold between image & language, recognition & uncertainty. I often create forms intuitively, including drawing with my eyes closed so that movement & instinct can guide the mark before I can consciously control it.

I combine these forms with photography, light, repeated shapes, fragments & reflective or translucent materials. My work brings careful composition together with moments of ambiguity & accident, leaving space for people to see and interpret the art in their own way.
